This project is an inpatient facility for civilly committed individuals with mental illness. The facility originally served as an adult day health and respite center, owned by Good Samaritan Outreach Corporation. The remodeled and expanded facility accommodates short-term treatment for both voluntarily and involuntarily committed individuals (consumers).

Seclusion and isolation during treatment influenced the project’s design and location. Circulation within the facility is designed for maximum observation and safety for both staff and consumers. Another important component of the project was durability and safety of interior furniture and finishes.
