Sumner Elementary School #9 is a single story school designed as part of the heart of the Cascadia, one of the largest planned community developments in Washington State, nestled at the foot of Mount Rainier. The building is designed to have a harmonious blend with the surrounding residential structures; brick veneer finishes with low profile metal siding and exposed interior and exterior wood beams are planned. The site design set the schools outside activities, covered play area, play structures and sports field adjacent Cascadia development park. The building layout is designed for curriculum flexibility and incorporates the latest in educational technologies.
