Efficiency. Erickson McGovern is committed to designing efficient, energy-conscious buildings. Our project teams incorporate sustainable design goals into the budget and timeline in the early planning phase of each project, and work with consultants to configure building systems to be operated and maintained by the owner’s personnel and at the lowest possible cost.
We take project costs very seriously and assist the client in developing a detailed budget and cost analysis at the beginning of the project and prior to the commencement of any design work. At major project milestones we review and update the cost analysis, ensuring that we provide our clients with solutions that achieve both design and fiscal goals.
Balance. Defining a balanced relationship between a building and its context – both natural and architectural – is central to our design process. Our goal is to incorporate the natural environment with our designs to highlight unique site-specific elements and to preserve existing ecosystems and wildlife.
At Erickson McGovern, we believe it is essential to achieve the main objectives of a project without sacrificing attention to detail. Also vital to a successful project is a sound relationship between client and architect. We maintain open lines of communication to form lasting personal relationships with our clients.
“Erickson McGovern is a firm that I have found to be reliable, honest, knowledgeable, communicative, and maintains a high level of integrity.”
- Thomas Seigel, Superintendent Bethel School District
Flexibility. Program, occupancy and technology within a building evolve over time. In fact, “expect change” is a phrase we are familiar with and are prepared to resolve in our designs. At Erickson McGovern, we strive to exceed current project goals with flexible designs that will also allow the building to adapt to change over time.
