Erickson McGovern - Architecture, Analysis & School Design

Erickson McGovern, located in Tacoma, Washington, was founded in 1972 by John Erickson. He was joined in 1980 by Rick McGovern, forming the partnership known as Erickson McGovern. Approximately 95% of Erickson McGovern’s projects are educational facilities and associated support facilities. Our project list includes: K-12 schools and related support facilities, technical college buildings, offices, childcare centers, libraries, mental health support facilities, public housing, community centers, and custom residential work.

We have a diverse office of professionals where each person has an important role in the design process, ensuring the final product meets the user’s expectations. Erickson McGovern’s team includes in-house architects, educational planners, specification writers, budget analysts, cost estimators, construction administrators and project managers.

Our integrated approach to planning and design results in projects that are completed on time and within budget – without sacrificing function or aesthetics. We attribute our budget-conscious designs to accurate cost estimates and consistent cost control measures, as well as our knowledge of the entire funding, design, and construction process.
